Melissa Roiter started Yummy Mummy Bakery over 16 years ago out of her home as a brownie company. While brownies remain a best seller, the bakery now offers custom cakes and cupcakes, muffins, cookies, cake pops and more. Everything is made daily, from scratch. Not only is there a retail store, but an online shop to ship brownies nationwide, a corporate gift division, a wholesale division and a crew that covers local farmers' markets.


How Did Your Business Get Started?:


Melissa started the business as a single mom of 2 year old triplets. Based on Melissa's grandmother's unique and decadent brownie recipe, the business was home-based for 8 years before moving into a larger retail space. Melissa has hired talented and committed staff to ensure the treats are true to their original version.

I am proud to say that Yummy Mummy Bakery was able to survive throughout the Covid Pandemic. It certainly was not easy but because of a committed staff and supportive customers, the bakery was able to pull through and grow!


What Advice Do You Have For Someone In The Beginning States Of Owning A Business?:


My advice: LOVE what you do. It is a lot of hard work, long hours and a range of emotions that I continually face. Wanting to be at work and loving my staff, products, and customers makes it all worth it.


What Are Your Favorite Products or Services That You Currently Sell?:


Besides brownies, customers love our warm donut muffins, cute cake pops and custom cakes. My personal all-time favorite is the cowboy cookie; oatmeal, pecans, coconut and chocolate chips!
