5 Local Businesses on Nantucket You Need to Check Out

As stores and businesses on the island start to open up again for the summer I am getting more and more excited to visit my favorite places around the island. Whether you are here for the summer or here for the day, I am creating a list of the 5 must-see businesses on Nantucket.

Salt Boutique

This is by far one of the greatest women’s boutiques I have ever been in. I am an avid shopper and I am all about being ahead of the trends and this store hits the nail on the head. They have amazing pieces and selections from beach wear to going out wear for any restaurant on the island. The interior of the store is incredibly cute and so great for snapping photos in!

Jack and Charlie’s

Jack and Charlie’s is the cutest ice cream and breakfast shop. It is located right on Straight Wharf and you can’t miss the big doors that are always open. Whether I am grabbing a bite to eat on the way to the beach or I’m looking for something sweet after a dinner in town, this is the go-to place for me!

Shearwater Excursions

An island “must-visit”, Shearwater Excursions does it all on the water. From clamming excursions and cocktail cruises, to fun harbor tours and ice-cream cruises, they have whatever water adventure you are looking for. The best part? They do private trips for any of their excursions!

Or, The Whale

Located right on Main Street in Town, this spot is always packed with people! The interior is decorated so well and there is even a back patio to sit outside if the weather is nice. The bar is super busy all the time and it is a great upper-scale hang out spot! The service and staff are unbelievable, they even gave us a champagne toast for a birthday dinner!

Nantucket Book Works

If you have ever been inside this store, you know why this is a go to place on the island. There is just something about being in a bookstore that makes me feel like I have gone back in time. The fresh smell of books and the almost secret passage ways inside the store bring something magical to the island book store. Book Works is great for finding a great summer/beach read.

Although things are a little different right now, it is so important to be supporting small and local businesses through this time. This is especially true for Nantucket businesses due to the fact that the season is so short and they rely on these summer months for most of their income. Hope you enjoyed!
